Outdoor Events in Michigan
Through the years of working in the rental industry we have been exposed to every setting for an event possible. The biggest trend is the outdoor intimate setting for events from weddings to family reunions. The hardest thing to figure out when planning an outdoor event in Michigan is the weather. As we all know the weather can change very quickly here and no one wants to get caught in the rain. Here are some tips to consider for your next outdoor event.
Rent a Tent
If you are having a party at a location with a shelter, you may want to consider a small tent just for some extra space. If your location doesn’t have a shelter that you will want to get a tent that will be able to hold all of your guests comfortably. If you are having an event where you expect 100 guests maybe look into getting a tent to fit 120 so you are covered in case of bad weather.
Get Sidewalls
All tents can be equipped with sidewalls. They are quick and easy to install on tents and can provide shelter fast in case of bad weather. They are fairly inexpensive to rent and are a real life saver. There are a few types of sidewalls depending on what you are looking for, there are solid, French windows, and sunburst windows.
Lighting
I don’t know about you, but most of the outdoor events I attend go well into the night. There is nothing that kills a party faster that not being able to see once it gets dark outside. To get around that plan on setting up lighting in your tent. There are many ways to accomplish this. You can mount flood lights to the center poles, run white Christmas lights around the sides, or hang lights from the tent. This will depend on what type of tent you rent, but your rental company will be able to assist you with that decision.
Tables
You want to make sure that all of your guests are comfortable at your outdoor event. Usually there is a lot of mingling with the guests so maybe you look into renting some high-top cocktail tables for your guests to move around to. If you are serving food you want to have enough tables for your guests and to serve your food from. If your outdoor event is a wedding or a graduation party make sure you have the tables to display all of the pictures and memories with your guests.
