How to know what to rent for a party

Throwing a party? How do you know what you need? Many things go into planning a party that can be stressful. Here are a few ways to make the process easier on you and your family.

What type of event is it? You need to answer this question honestly. Is this a formal event where everyone is going to be there at the same time? Is it a graduation party where people will be coming and going? Either way you, need to know in order to rent the correct equipment. If it is a formal party, you will need to make sure you have seating for everyone. If you are having 50 people over you need to make sure you have 50 chairs. When looking at tables you would want to have round tables so that everyone sitting at the table can see one another and can have conversation. If you don’t have linen for the tables, you want to make sure to rent those as well.

If you are having a graduation party at your house it is more than likely going to be outside. You are going to want to have some shelter from the sun, or worst case, from the rain. To get the correct tent size you need to know how many people were invited. With a grad party, guests will come and go but you will probably have a rush at the start. Your tent should be able to fit about half of your guests sitting at one time. So, if you invited 100 people you need to have a tent that seats about 50. You are also going to want to look into seating for about 60 people. You will need to have some of the chairs setup at tables under the tent for guests to eat at as well as some extra chairs for the additional person on the patio. Are you having a buffet? Then you may want to rent some chafing dishes to keep the food warm along with additional tables to have the food out on.
