5 Tips For Planning A Graduation Party

5 Tips For Planning A Graduation Party

There are a lot of things that can make a break a graduation party. Some you can control and some of them you can’t. These are five tips on how to plan a successful graduation party in Michigan.

Grad party setup

Tip #1 – Decide on a date.

This can often be the hardest task of the entire event. You want to make sure that you are not having the party at the same time as your son/daughters best friends party. When looking at dates you want to make sure that you take into consideration family and friends that might have to travel. You have to remember that other people make plans too. You also need to take into consideration the temperature, especially in Michigan, July and August are usually much warmer then May and June.

Tip #2 – Figure out a Budget

Parties can get expensive quickly. Especially when you have a party in Michigan, you never know what the weather is going to be like. When making your budget you have to take into consideration some sort of shelter for you guests, like a tent. If you have limited funds you can look into throwing a combo grad party for a few friends. Looking at your budget, you want to make sure that you have the funds to make the guests comfortable with plenty of seating, shelter and food.

Tip #3 – Choose the Location

This is where the real fun starts. You can pick anywhere you want for a grad party. With the right equipment you have your party where ever you want, your backyard, a park, or even a campground. Just make sure if you are using a rental company, they will be able to setup everything within your timeline so that you can spend time decorating and setting up food.

Tip #4 –  Create a Menu

As bad as it may sound there are people out there that just show up to grad parties for the food. You don’t want to disappoint!! Depending on the theme of you party, prepare food match. If you are doing a backyard get together have some burgers and hot dogs on the grill. If it is more of a formal setting, look into getting it catered and having the food setup in chafing dishes to keep it warm and ready to serve whenever your guests arrive.

Tip #5 – Have Fun

Once all the planning is complete and everything is in order, make sure that you enjoy the party. You have put in all the hard work to make your guests are comfortable and have fun so be sure you have some fun as well. If your guests see you all stressed out and worrying they may not enjoy the party as much. You did all the planning and now it is time to enjoy the fruits of you labor.

  1. This is some really good information about party rentals. Figuring out a budget does seem smart when you are planning a party. It seems like it would be smart to also book your rentals as soon as possible. That way, you get the things you want.

My sister wants to throw a large party. Thanks for the advice about how you should set a decently sized budget. Another thing to consider is to get a party rental company to help you.

I really like your tip to figure out a budget pretty quickly after deciding on a date for a party. I’ve heard that renting supplies like tablecloths and other simple supplies is a pretty good way to save money when planning a party. I also really like what you said creating a menu, because other than rentals, I think food is a huge way to save money on a party or event.

This is some really really good information about party rentals. It does seem like a good idea to plan ahead. After all, it would be awful if it rained during an outdoor party and you didn’t have a plan.

That’s a good tip to plan a date early. That you can send invites out on time. The time also let’s plan out what you’ll need: like catering and party rentals.
